Energy glass
Less Heat Loss
An energy glass unit has two panes of glass, one of which has a special almost colourless coating which allows sunlight and solar energy to pass through. The coated piece of glass is normally placed on the inside of the room/element. With regards to u-values it is irrelevant which side of the room/element the coated piece of glass is placed.
Condensation
Condensation on the energy glass unit is a combination of temperature and relative humidity in conjunction with insulating properties. The energy glass unit´s higher surface temperature means that condensation occurs at a much later stage than that of standard double glazing. In special weather conditions it may be that condensation can occur on the external pain of glass. This is a result of the unit’s high sun drying efficiency’s. The outer layer of glass is colder than that of a standard glazing unit due to minimum heat loss. Any condensation disappears quickly.
Better Comfort
Cold atmosphere from a cold glass surface feels like a draft.This discomfort can be reduced due to the higher temperature in the atmosphere surrounding Super Energy Windows. When using Super Energy Windows the temperature can be lowered without sacrificing comfort.
